The Indian army is preparing to enter the football World Cup in India next year with its top eight teams in the squad that will be drawn.
The squad, which was announced on Wednesday, includes six players from the Army’s top-ranked side, including former captain and former coach Prabhakar Jadhav.
The two other Indian players in the starting line-up are Indian international captain Prabhjot Singh Sidhu, who was in the Army for four years, and captain and vice-captain Ravinder Singh Dutt.
Both were part of India’s successful 2015 World Cup squad.
The Army’s defence, the Indian Navy and the Air Force are also included in the team.
The Indian side is also aiming to make the final of the football tournament in England, which the Indian Football Association (IFA) said will take place in April, 2019.
